Sustainability on
product level.
Today, a large number of stands are still designed and created in the ‘build and burn’ principle. This means that a large part of the construction ends in the garbage container after only one use. beMatrix helps to reduce this waste by convincing stand builders to make the switch and start building with reusable frames. Calculations based on the Bilan Carbone method show that CO2 emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of a beMatrix product have decreased significantly. We achieved this by using ECO-friendly product methods in the creation of our frame.
Get to know more advantages of the beMatrix frame system:
ECO+ frame
beMatrix introduced the ECO+ frame as an alternative to anodised frames. Traditionally, anodised frames are finished with a layer of oxide. This procedure involves the use of heavy chemicals, such as chromium and sulphuric acid. beMatrix wants to combat this kind of pollution by brushing the frames as a finishing technique. The frames still look similar to anodised frames but are fully recyclable.
...and ECO pin
Following the ECO+ frame, we brought our ECO pin on the market. Now, the ecological frames can be attached with an eco-friendly pin made of Zamac (an acronym for the Dutch words for Zinc, Aluminium, Magnesium and Copper). This treatment is much eco-friendlier than a chromium treatment: CO2 emissions are reduced to 1/8th, the weight of the pins is halved and the volume goes down by 2/3rd because of the stacking possibilities.
Certificate
In 2021, beMatrix was awarded the international “Sustainable Resource for Events” certificate by the organisation Eventsost. We are certified because we have clearly demonstrated, according to an objective scorecard, that we offer sustainable products on the market. A study based on the “Bilan Carbon”, an international tool to measure sustainability of products.
Together with an external partner, we analysed our current and future sustainability goals, resulting in 10 core themes. These core themes form the base of our sustainability strategy which we have written down in a charter. The charter maps out our current policy clearly and will be used as a working document to optimise our sustainable development goals further.
This charter, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, is here to inspire you and your business!
