Phase 1 completed: use of our new production hall!
Space optimisation
In January we started using our brand-new production hall of 3060 m². One of the main focuses is space optimisation. That's why in phase 1 we also built a 600 m² mezzanine ( where we hosted an epic party for the team!) in the production hall. This echoes in a total 37 630 m³ space, which means we optimised valuable land.
Like this, we will install multiple 12-meter-high storage racks, and we purchased a first Modula vertical lift. The Modula vertical lift can store with its 25 m² more than 280 m² parts which we can still expand.
All these choices will allow us to use every m² efficiently. Why? Our goal is to have a larger and more complete stock so we can ship orders even faster to our customers!

Climatisation
To ensure a nice environment inside our production hall, we installed floor heating powered by heat pumps. Next to the comforting aspect it is also crucial for the aluminium – which can expand and contract because of temperature fluctuations. The floor heating will ensure our product quality is consistent, all year long.

Smart with energy
Our recently installed lighting system is fully programmable. The LED-output is automatically based on the daylight levels. Less daylight? More light. More daylight? Less energy consumption. Our motion sensors will optimise our energy use by dimming the lights in inactive zones.
And above all, the roof of the production hall is fully equipped with 800 solar panels.
Demolition time...
or not?
We recently started phase 2, the demolition of the old site 3 (where truck drivers used to register) has officially begun!
Did you know that site 3 is where it all began?

Circularity
Instead of discarding these valuable resources, we reuse and recycle as much as possible, reducing waste and minimising our environmental footprint:
- The former storage racks are being reused by Adirack, a second-hand warehouse equipment shop in our neighborhood.
- The former kitchen that served us over a decade found a new home at another local workspace.
- The network access points from the production hall were successfully reinstalled in CircuMatrix.
- You can imagine the number of cables we had in production in all different types, colors and sizes. All the cables were carefully collected, sorted and sold to a metal processing company so they will be processed responsibly.
- The cable trays were dismantled and are set aside to be reused in CircuMatrix.
- All Ytong(c) blocks from the former site are locally cut & sawn to minimise waste and transportation to get the stones recycled. In collaboration with our architect, we are repurposing them to be used as facade cladding for our new offices. A true innovation with regards to sustainable building in the future!
Stay tuned as we continue building CircuMatrix!
