SOS - Panel and textile dimensions

You have beMatrix frames in your stock. Great! Now you just need to get the right panels and textiles printed for it. In this guide, we explain which panels or textiles you can choose from and which sustainable alternatives exist. Let's dive right in!

What panel should I choose?

For straight frames, we recommend 3 mm thick panels such as aluminium sandwich panels, forex or PAL board. For curved frames, bear in mind that the chosen material must be suitable for bending in the desired radius. This is possible, for example, by choosing a thinner material.

If you’re not sure what to choose, please contact one of our bePartners specialised in printed panels. They can give you advice in no-time!

Panels with a sustainable character

A lot of our bePartners come on the market with sustainable alternatives, both in panel and the more special infill materials. These certainly do not have to compromise on quality; on the contrary, a lot of research has gone into them in order to launch a top product. Discover 2 sophisticated examples below.

PVC RC
PVC RC

In the summer of 2023, bePartner 3Motion launched PVC RC, a 100% recycled PVC foam board featuring a smooth, white topcoat with high whiteness and a high-density core. "These foam boards are not only suitable for various large-format printing applications, but also contribute to our commitment to a more circular and environmentally conscious approach."

AcoFelt
AcoFelt

AcoFelt, does this ring a bell? Correct, we used it in our stand at EuroShop 2023 and also brought it back to our showroom. AcoFelt or recycled PET bottle felt are acoustic boards made largely from recycled PET bottles. This material is ideal for creating beautiful wall finishes or acoustic elements. 100% recyclable, contains no chemical components, so very environmentally friendly. Available from printer Plano Plastics from the Netherlands.

Determine panel dimensions

We’ve made a brochure on how you can calculate the correct dimensions of the panel infills for your beMatrix frame or door. As a general rule, always start from the frame size, most of the time you have to substract 7mm.

You can also take 6mm, but then it is important to process/saw them in a heated environment. If you saw the panels in a cold environment, they will expand when they arrive in the heated exhibition hall. And consequently no longer fit.

How to order textile?

Textiles remain the most sustainable option when looking for finishes for your frame. Both in terms of production and transport, it takes up the least space and emits the least emissions in the process. We also think it is the most beautiful way of finishing.

Practical tips

When placing a fabric in a curved frame, it is best to always insert a panel into your curved frame before placing the textile. However, the panel should leave the textile slot completely free.

To make it even more convenient and faster for you, we have the Platypus, a handy tool to both remove panel from your frame and insert textile. Check the video and see how it works.

Supplier information

To ensure a perfect match of the infill with the beMatrix frame, giving as much information as possible to the textile supplier is key. We advise you to send the following information with your request:

  • Specify that the textile will be used on a beMatrix frame (SEG slot).
  • Provide your printer with the exact dimensions of the frame  or multiple frames if you want to create a seamless wall (in mm).
  • Type of application determines the type of textile (e.g. blackout textile, Lightbox …)
  • Add the technical drawing and/or 3D files of the stand to your printing order.

Determine textile dimensions

We’ve made for you a brochure on how you can calculate the correct dimensions of the textile in your beMatrix frame, door or lightbox. As a general rule, always start from the frame size. Please note: these are theoretical dimensions! For the best result, we advise you to supply the (door) frame or profile to your printing company.
