beMatrix first Belgian firm to receive ‘European Business Award’

Roeselare (BE) – Last Wednesday, beMatrix, world player in the niche market of modular stand building, was named winner of the European Business Award (category: turnover to 25 million €) during the grand European final in Warsaw, Poland. In the 11 years the European Business Awards exist, beMatrix is the first Belgian business to grab gold, which is unique!

Over 450 managers from all over Europe came together last week in Warsaw (Poland) for a prestigious 2-day event with politicians, ambassadors and academics to decide who would return home with the main prize. In the opening speech, the organisers even hailed this event the ‘Eurosong for business leaders and CEOs’, but without voting system and with a credible and impressive team of jury members.

The selection rounds started in the middle of last year, with over 112,000 entries from over 34 countries. In December 2017, 2,898 organisations were listed as the ‘Ones to Watch’ and after a further round by an independent jury, 289 businesses in Europe were named National Winner and finalist in their category. At the end of all selection rounds, beMatrix was hailed one of the 13 winners.

Last Tuesday, in the Hilton in Warsaw, the final event took place. All National Winners in their category had to answer a barrage of questions during the live jury session/workshop. Out of all National Winners, beMatrix was chosen as the final winner because of its strong but stable financial growth, its focus on R&D and the importance of sustainability in both product development and daily operations.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards: "beMatrix belongs to the top in ‘business excellence’ in their specific industry. They are a powerful example of the growth potential other European businesses have in the current, highly competitive international market. They deserve this success!”

beMatrix today employs over 140 people and aims to attain a consolidated turnover of 40 million euro in 2018, producing 140,000 frames annually.

Edwin Van der Vennet, C!O beMatrix, beams with pride: “We didn’t expect this at all. We knew we had a strong case, given our growth and impetus to innovation, but to be actually selected as the winner out of a group of the best of the best in Europe, is magnificent. Again, this actually is a true accolade for all our colleagues – we call ourselves beManiacs (laughs) – clients and suppliers who contribute each day to the success of beMatrix! Respect!”

Earlier this year, beMatrix already received the prestigious ‘iF Design Award’ for LEDskin®; a LED tile that is easy to integrate in the beMatrix aluminium modular stand building system.
