Buzzing with inspiration in be(e)Matrix
In the heart of Milan, from July 3rd to 7th, a remarkable event unfolded: the "Think like a Bee" exhibition, a charming showcase of multisensory installations, conceptualized and designed by Remigio Architects, aims to convey sustainable design through bees and their interaction with nature.
Remigio Architects deconstructs, breaks down, and reshapes the beMatrix frame, forming regular hexagons that serve as the focal point of a series of installations made from indefinitely recyclable aluminium and printed fabric with water-based colours, devoid of solvents or chemical agents.
The hexagon becomes the distinctive element, also reproduced in colourful hexagonal plates always designed by Remigio Architects, which are used to connect the different frames together, creating glimpses of modern beehives.
Two main multisensory installations stand out, both towering at over five meters in height: a tower that, with a full-height mobile facade, warmly welcomes visitors, immersing them in an olfactory and visual experience, and an experiential tunnel that guides them on an inside journey through a succession of multi-coloured bays.
At the end of the exhibition, which was executed by Abs and Interexpo, stands an emblem of Remigio Architects' work methodology and project journey: a hexagonal table crafted from recycled wood waste, covered by hundreds of colourful hexagon to be used as Kapla construction; an allegorical representation highlighting the paramount importance of getting around the table, fostering a deeper understanding of clients and their needs, cultivating ideas, experimenting, shaping concepts, and, why not, start thinking like bees.
